Bye-bye!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the end of Alternine. The band had found a new impulse thanks to the release of our music video, the coming of our new drummer, and the forthcoming contest of the Motocultor Festival. Sadly, an unexpected event clouded the horizon, and we prefer to stop the project instead of seeing it slowly die.

However, Laëtitia, Maxime and myself (Julien) will soon start a new project. We will keep you informed of our new adventures through this very page!

Thanks to everyone who followed us, loved us and worked with us. Alternine could have been much more, but it wasn’t possible with its current set-up. Thanks again and see you soon!

A video for Crystal Shards!

Finally! The time has come. After many months of hard work, the video of Crystal Shards is available on Earth. Please bear in mind that, despite the pressure exerted by hords of impatient and hysterical fans, never a single image of the video was shown! So beware of the shock when viewing the result: it is, to say the least, quite original.

New drummer, new sound, new video!

2015 will be full of surprises for Alternine!
Our new drummer Guillaume has made a thunderous arrival in the band, and we are really eager to show you how his energy revolutionize our music.
Add to this a return to amps and you will get a musical explosion you will never forget.
What’s more, our first music video, on which we have spent several months of hard work, is finally finished and will be shown on Monday 23 February on internet! Stay tuned!

Looking for a guitarist!

Alternine is looking for a second guitarist ! Clément decided to leave us to shred in his Death Metal band, we wish him all the best. Our future guitarist (male or female! Don’t be shy!) should:

Be nice and funny..
Have good technical abilities.
Know what Rock is about, know when to get crazy or when to shut up when the music requires it.
Be familiar with the following influences: Oceansize, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Radiohead, The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In…
Metalheads, please do not apply!! Don’t get us wrong, we love Metal, but if you want to play Metal, you will sooner or later become frustrated by not playing technical solos or thousands notes per seconds within Alternine.
There is no such as thing as a “rhythmical” or “lead” guitarist in Alternine. The music alternates both.
Be available for rehearsals or concerts (one concert per week is what to be expected). Aunt Jeanne’s birthday shall be missed.
Live Rennes or its surroundings to ease the rehearsals and extra-musical fun.
Contrary to what is said in our biography and after a venture in the simulated amplifiers world, we are back on good ol’amps. Be ready to have fun at carrying them too!
We have voluntarily paused our search for concerts in order to take our time at finding the right guitarist. But once this is done, we guarantee to be quite busy!
Our one-hour set is only made of compositions. As a consequence, the new guitarist will have first to learn them, which may be a rather hard work. But what joy to play them afterwards :)!
If possible, have a bit of concert experience. The goal is to “live” the music and convey emotions to the public. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have to look sad or angry all the time, but also doesn’t mean you have to spend your time waving at your friends.
Our band is very ambitious and aim at being professionals. You must also have such ambitions.

We are unstoppable. Laëtitia has been interviewed by the feminist magazine from Rennes Yegg (huge thanks to them)! And in her great kindness, she even talked about the people wiggling at her feet like worms: us! Next step for our star, the cocaine overdose!

Clément! Look at this smiling face and know that behind these tired eyes is someone who, in about a month, has learned the whole set and even brought some new ideas (which I, of course, will attempt to dismiss, being “the dictator” of the band). Our first concert went really went. What’s next can only be tremendous, no doubt about it!

After giving us an excellent review, Yegg Mag is going to interview Laëtitia on Wednesday 26 March on Radio Campus Rennes (88.4 mhz) for their “Yegg Radio” show. The cherry on the cake (and the undeniable proof of our forthcoming glory) being the use of our song “Crystal Shards” as their jingle!

Here are some very interesting news! First of all, our search for a second guitarist is going on very well, thanks for asking. We hope to give the name of the selected martyr on next week!
What’s more, we have given an interview and an acoustic live at Radio Laser, which you can listen to here. Finally, Amalgame Musical and Les Autres Mondes have honored us with two very positive reviews of our EP “2.0″. Many thanks to them !

Guitarist wanted!

It has been a tough decision, but is was a necessary one: we separated from Benoît, one of our guitarists. We wish him all the best in his numerous projects, including Lux Aeterna and Live Machine.

As for us, we are actively looking for a new guitarist! Here are some wisely chosen critera the candidate will have to match:
- Be friendly and funny.
- Have good technical abilities.
- Know when to Rock and when not to, as the music requires both sound and silence.
- Like some of these influences: Oceansize, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Radiohead, The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In…
- Be available for both rehearsal and concerts.
- Live Rennes or nearby, which is more handy for the rehearsals and besides-music meetings (important to create bonds between the members of the band!).
- We are quite keen on simulating amps (we have a spare Pod HD500 for you!). Liking that, or be willing to try is a good thing. However, we don’t force their use.
- Thanks to our manager, we are getting more and more concert dates, so be expected to play quite a lot as time goes by. Thrilling!
- As a consequence, the candidate will have quite a lot of work to do right from the start in order to learn the one-hour set. That’s the price to pay to live a fantastic adventure with us.
- The band is very ambitious and aim to become professional. The candidate must be aiming the same direction.
